Why don’t people use public transportation more
It is obvious that the number of cars on the road is increasing. And it seems that ecologically and logistically we have reached the limit of what we can bear. Roads can only hold so many cars, not to mention parking lots.No wonder the government is gradually trying to take action. But what to do? One option is to make the private car a luxury item again. There, no family would no longer have more than two cars; they would be content with one.
Of course, this is not very popular with the general public. After all, how can they get where they need to go? Of course, there is the option of using public transportation, but many people refuse to do so. The bus and train network is quite good, but far from perfect.
The main problem in many places is congestion. For example, buses from surrounding areas to Prague are literally packed in the mornings, and finding an empty seat is not easy. The only option is to buy tickets online in advance, but this can be problematic for older people who are not used to this method.
On the other hand, in smaller towns and villages, the problem is that buses are not frequent. This is understandable, of course, since it is not worth it for a bus to stop more than twice a day, but for locals it means that they must rely on their own cars if they want to get somewhere without having to travel virtually all day.
Then there is the fact that many of the stops are not very welcoming. This is because they often serve as shelters for various socially disadvantaged citizens, many of whom are afraid of them. For example, few people would want to wait 30 minutes with a completely drunk person sitting next to them.Of course, all of these problems can be solved. Of course, it will not be easy and will probably be resisted by some of the public. But believe me. In the end, all of us will benefit, including our nature.
