Why are people so different?
We all know we can\’t find 2 people who look the same, except for identical twins. After all, the difference in appearance is noticeable at first glance. But we are just as different from the inside, whether it be character, nature, interests, or different opinions. This may seem strange to a social species where cooperation between individual members has always been important. After all, wouldn\’t we understand each other better if we were the same?
The truth is that they understand, but it also brings that disadvantage that most of us overlook. It\’s not clear at first glance, but when you think about it, you can see why it\’s beneficial for any society if its members are not uniform and diverse.
The main advantage of this difference is that it helps the company move forward. If everyone agrees, nothing will change. But in this way, new ideas always move forward, and the old established rules are subject to criticism. And this is important if we really want the best for people. There\’s always a need for someone to be able to point out mistakes, and for that, it\’s important that people have different perspectives to see the problem.
True, this is also the reason why individuality is greatly suppressed in authoritarian and totalitarian regimes. These leaders need people who are satisfied with what they have, and no one points out some nonsense in the established order. Similarly, it works with different denominations and cults.
Of course, it is also true that too much is harmful. For us to really move forward, we need to at least agree on the basics. So, while we need to find a balance between personality and understanding the needs of other members of the group, it\’s not always easy.
This is why there are so many conflicts in the world. And the only way we can face it is to recognize this fact and act accordingly.
