How to Claim and Return Merchandise
Sometimes you buy something and then are shocked to realize it doesn\’t fit your home. Or you receive something as a gift and are told “don\’t look a gift horse in the mouth,” but you don\’t get the perfect present, or the clothes are too small or too big, or the item is already in your home, and you want to return it to the store or exchange it for something else. We get a lot of complaints, especially at Christmas. We sometimes blindly buy gifts based on sight alone, and they don\’t always fit. But that is not a problem at all. [We have a legal right to make a claim, and we must follow certain conditions regarding the claim, the claim period, and sometimes special conditions of the dealer. And the receipt is the key to a successful claim. Without a receipt, in most cases, no one will accept a claim. Some stores have special customer programs that will track receipts, but you must be a member and have a loyalty card. Otherwise, they simply cannot do it without a receipt. So be sure to pick up your receipt at the store\’s register and throw it away at home when you are sure you won\’t return or claim it.
Most items, except food, have a two-year warranty, and you can claim the itemduring this period, especially if the item is broken or does not perform as it should. We will usually replace and refund your merchandise within two weeks. However, this may vary. The seller clearly states this period in the receipt below. However,
during the Christmas shopping season, retailers also offer promotions and longer return periods. However, they always notify customers in advance, and this is not the rule everywhere. Products to be returned must be undamaged, clean, and without tags removed. Protective packaging and tags should not be removed until you are certain that the item will be kept. The same rules apply when buying from the Internet, unless the store has set different rules. Fortunately, there are no major problems with the return of unsuitable merchandise, and retailers try to accommodate customer requests as much as possible.
