Contradictions found in the opinions of unfriendly societies
In today\’s society, everyone has the right to express his or her opinion on anything, so we are often faced with conflicting opinions. However, some of them contradict each other in such a way that they divide society itself into several camps. Which are the most common?
Opinions on motherhood, child rearing, and single motherhood
Motherhood, once not so much of an issue, is now routinely the bane of many discussions. What aspects of motherhood are most often discussed?
- Money. This is often where people from the two camps clash. One argues that women should not have children unless they are safe. Thus, they should first get an education, find a job, save money, and then have a baby. In this way, they can avoid the problems that many economically disadvantaged families face. On the other hand, some believe that modern women are having children later because they want to have a career first, and then they are either too old to become mothers or unable to conceive. These two views combine to suggest that women should have their first child by age 25, but with a master\’s degree, a solid job, and savings.
- Single Mothers. The plight of single mothers is addressed next. On the one hand, there are those who argue that single mothers should not complain and should get jobs. On the other, however, there are opponents who argue that mothers should concentrate on their young children and not cram them into daycare centers and crèches. Take your pick.
Solidarity
People can be in solidarity. What are the most common current issues regarding helping others?
- Helping Ukrainians. On the one hand there are those who do not like the fact that people fleeing the war are receiving benefits from our taxes. They say they should go to work. But when they try to do so, opponents speak out and do not like the fact that foreigners are taking jobs away from our people. As a result, it is not clear whether they should benefit from our welfare system or look for work here. Finally, there are third parties who say we don\’t need to be here at all. But try to look at it another way. Imagine that you are one of them. These are people who have lost their homes and fear for their lives and the lives of their children. Would you reach out for help and flee to another country, or would you watch your children die in fear and pain?
- Homelessness Homeless people are the bane of many. On the one hand, there are those who say they should find work. On the other hand, others do not want to hire people who do not have even a basic social background. Not to mention the fact that even those who do work can end up living on the streets because low wages prevent them from doing more than that.
