What is a bike good enough for group B
First of all, you don\’t have many options, and the best one is to go out of your way to get a motorcycle license. The choices are much wider. If you do not want a motorcycle for various reasons, an interesting choice is a scooter from the Italian manufacturer Gilera. This bike is unfortunately no longer in production, so it is a good choice if you don\’t need a new machine. This scooter has the unusual appearance of a small road bike. It was produced in three-cube capacities: the Gilera Dna 50, 125, and 180.
The middle cubic capacity is the most interesting, more powerful than the basic 50, and the most powerful version cannot legally be driven with a Group B license. 11 kW with automatic transmission is the maximum that can be placed on a B. The Gilera Dna 125 offers plenty of power for everyday city cruising. This lightweight bike weighs only 135 kg. This makes it easy to handle and allows beginners to make mistakes. There is no need to worry about shifting gears, and there is a convenient trunk for storing a smaller helmet. The trunk, which resembles a fuel tank, cannot hold a large flip-up helmet. It can be ridden out of town. The top speed is just over 100 km/h, which is not ideal for crossing highways, but should be enough for riding around the precinct. They teach you to sit on the bike. This will come in handy later when I decide to get a motorcycle license.
Another option is the Piaggio MP3 125. This is an interesting scooter with three wheels. It has two on the front. It is quite heavy and a bit cumbersome at low speeds, but being a three-wheeled vehicle, it is stable and secure enough for beginners. Of particular interest is the more powerful version, the Peaggio MP3 500ie Sport LT, with a 493 cc single cylinder that delivers 29.5 kW of power. It is the most powerful motorcycle you can ride without a license. It is more suited for city driving.
A more interesting alternative is the Kawasaki Z125. Weighing only 101 kg, this bike has a 125 cc single-cylinder engine and an automatic centrifugal clutch. It is truly a small naked. It is beautifully small and can be used both in the city and in the precinct. Unfortunately, this version of the bike is intended for the Asian market; only a version with the classic four-speed gearbox is available in Europe.
